1. The history always survive in the books, in the paints, in the narrative stories. Such materials tells us the abstract ideas about the past. However, the historic biulding is a true evidence about the life which owned by those are revelant to the building. We can feel every little thing about the real life they spent there through every little clues. It is the vivid evidence. 
2. 偉大的建築往往是一個城市甚至國家的重要象徵。例如聖母院。他象徵一個文化的精神。

The only thing we can do for the old biuldings is to protect and reserve it as a historic memory, however, we can do anything other than destroy the old one due to new construction for the new new buildings. As a result, we should always think how to serve contemporary needs without destroy of the old buildings.
