[44] 1. Indeed, studying the history can help us to consider the decision making in many aspect, but it can not always make us choose the best answer. On the ond hand, the history is the accumulation of the every little fragement of the ancestors: how they think, how the make decision, what they consider, why they choose the answer and how they react to every unknown response. By camparison between our own situation and the ancestors, we can find our disadvantage and the important points we neglected, just like we are standing in front of a mirror.

On the other hand, there is almost nothing behind the stories which the history tells. What we meet is always met by somebody before. Just as Willa Cather, .... , put it, "There are two or three human stories, and they go on repeating as firecely as if they had never happened before." If we can

However, the decision making is influenced by many aspects, such as our values, our targets of life, or our family. It is not a simple yes-or-no question. Maybe we can find out what is right answer from the history, but we still have to choose the other one, because we live in the current, not in the history. It is real life. But we would never have the chance to choose the best answer, if we never learn something from the history.

To sum up, the history is good reference of our life. We can learn many things from it,
